The Bastukronan story
The name means exactly that: the sauna crown, a mark of quality for saunas built the Swedish way, meant to be inherited rather than replaced. We carry that standard into every sauna we build.
"A crown is earned, not given. Every piece from Bastukronan has to earn its place in your garden."
Bastukronan was built on a simple Swedish idea: the sauna is not a luxury, it is a ritual passed down through generations. A place to sweat out the day and think clearly again.
The sauna is where Swedes have always gone to recover, to shake off the cold of winter and the weight of a long day. Steam, silence, the smell of wet timber: it is the oldest medicine there is.
We chose the name Bastukronan because we believe in what the sauna does. Not as a trend or a wellness product, but as something close to sacred.
Rooted in Swedish sauna culture
Every Bastukronan sauna starts as carefully chosen timber. We work with a trusted materials and assembly partner, and every piece is built to tight tolerances measured in millimetres, with joints made to move with the wood. We chose that partner for one reason. Their standard matches ours.
Against the throwaway
The sauna market is awash with flat-pack kits that sag and warp within five years. We build the opposite: structures that grow steadier with age, timber that matures into something richer. You do not really buy a Bastukronan sauna. You pass it on.
The oldest medicine
Swedes have been bathing in saunas for more than a thousand years. It was where deals were struck and the working day was closed. We carry that on out of conviction, not nostalgia. Some things do not need improving.
A sauna is more than a room. It is a ritual, and we build a room worthy of it.
